Catholic Carnival 177: Wheel of Time
Every year, I expect June to be slow and easy. I plan, in my head, a month of long and lazy afternoons of sipping lemonade and enjoy the quiet rustle of my laundry on the line.
Then reality hits, and I end up just wishing June would end, feeling like it has been nothing more than the hangover of May madness.
This year finds me at an odd place. I am carting around a baby, savoring new smiles and ignoring weed towers in the flowerbeds, and I'm going through photos from three years ago. Was it only three years ago that my oldest was on my hip? And somehow, as the passage of time sinks in, I think of my parents, and of their parents before them.
It's inevitable. Time moves on.
So what does this have to do with the Catholic Carnival, Sarah? I'm short on time, see, and you're getting the hosting job you've come to expect from me - slapdashed together.
