Thankful Things, Christmas Edition

191. Not in the forecast and highly unlikely, and yet enough snow on the ground for the kids to be able to throw snowballs

192. The prayers of a young niece visiting Ohio from the South…for snow – and the faith that made those prayers possible

193. The kids from the South who have no inhibition about playing outside and whose enthusiasm gets all the kids outside to play…at night…with barely enough clothing on…and then the pile of kids coming in with ice cubes for extremities

194. Being next to a ten-year-old niece attending her first midnight Mass

195. Being roused for good-bye hugs and kisses at the ungodly hour of 4:30ish AM on Christmas morning, and having the first thing I heard being “I love you guys!”

196. Blinking Christmas lights

197. Thunk-thunk-thunk on the stairs Christmas morning (but not til after 8!)

198. The pure delight of someone on the receiving end of a gift

199. Writing thank you notes with an almost-three-year-old on construction paper on the floor

200. The tears from the present I had no idea at all he knew I wanted and that he got me and that I’m getting all teary about now (this drawing framed)
